- Setting a price, that is to say a balanced price for a given security in the light of the supply and demand situation for the security. There are several types of quotations, depending on the market (continuous or fixing).
- Quotation on the continuous market
- A quotation occuring throughout the day allowing investors to buy or sell any time the market is open. The continous market is the opposite of fixing.
